The following, in her own words, is Kirsty's story. Kirsty is British, scored an A in our TEFL course, and is really looking forward to teaching:

“I am from North Wales where I worked in the University of Wales, Bangor, managing the centralised Timetable Unit. I moved to Thailand last November with my husband and two daughters, as we wanted a complete change. My husband’s work takes him all over the world so we thought, ‘Why just stay in the UK?’

Whilst sitting by the pool doing very little was fun for a couple of months, I was soon bored and wanted a new challenge, and teaching was something that always appealed to me. I looked into a few courses and felt that the one offered by TEXT-AND-TALK Academy was more ‘substantial’, considering it was to be the basis for a whole new career.

I have now got a job teaching kindergarten children at the Burapa Bi-lingual School, which my daughters attend, and I am really looking forward to starting a new career and having a real purpose for being here in Thailand.”

Kirsty credits her trainer, Mr David Sologmon, for her rapid progress, and is deeply appreciative of David's remarkable personal attention to each trainee. She also thoroughly enjoyed her practice teaching sessions, which built the confidence in herself to work successfully as a full-time EFL teacher, anywhere, anytime.
