How we Find Corporate Training Jobs

EDITOR'S NOTE: Training the staff of companies to use English well, whether it be in just a general way at first, or to help them perfect their on-the-job English skills later on, is a highly rewarding form of teaching. Although teachers cannot generally count on filling a full-time schedule teaching only corporate classes, these certainly make wonderful, and spiritually rewarding, "fillers", well worth a short (and sometimes even longer!) jaunt across the city to reach. Certainly, there is no nobler teaching forum for teaching English than that of helping staff learn English on their own company premises, as developing nations such as Thailand are heavily dependent or reliable and effective instruction by teachers who are not only professional, but who also know how to make learning fun. Thus it is that our corporate training contracting efforts not only assist our teachers to live a fuller and more rewarding professional life, but also is of inestimable value to the Thai students we live in this country to assist. Now, let's hear how Matthew describes his job....

TEXT-AND-TALK has been providing corporate training to companies in and around the Bangkok area since 1990, and during that time, working in our academies, in government agencies and in homes and companies, our teachers have trained more than 1,000,000 Thai students to speak, read, understand and write in English.

A client list now numbering several thousand companies is a result of the hard work and dedication of this school, its Training Consultants and the suitably qualified and experienced instructors working here.

Language courses don’t just “turn up on the door step”; a great deal of work must go into the process before even the very first lesson of a course is taught.

With so many qualified teachers to keep happy in terms of having regular teaching work, a highly successful Corporate Training system has to be in operation at all times.

An English training course must follow certain guidelines in order to be successful, from the initial contact with a prospective client right through to the conclusion of the course.

Language training has, itself, evolved in many ways in recent years, with clients now wanting more customized and, to a certain extent, more competency-based training courses. Courses have to be put together in way that will meet all the requirements of the client company, and our teachers must be fully aware of
these needs and requirements.


The Corporate team at TEXT-AND-TALK is a very hard working, dedicated group that includes tele-prospecting staff, PR staff and the actual Training Consultants, who will ultimately go out and meet the prospects, discuss and advise on the best training possible and then implement a course.

After an initial appointment has been set up, the Training Consultant will usually meet with the HR or Personnel Manager of the company that is interested in the language training.

A
fter listening to the needs of the company, we then present our programme, so that both parties are aware of what is needed, what can be done and what the outcome is going to be.

        This initial meeting is followed up with a very detailed and customized proposal for the potential client to consider before making a decision on their staff's training.

If approved, TEXT-AND-TALK will then implement the training,
incorporating such features as:

A pre-course Placement Test and Needs Analysis Study of all potential students.

 Selection of suitable course materials after consultation with the client and our Academic Manager, as based on both student needs and their ability levels.

 Correct placement of students in study groups that will achieve the desired objectives.
 
bullet
Progress reports during the training that will keep the company informed as to individual and overall group progress, attendance, etc.
 
bullet
A course completion certificate on completion of courses in excess of 60 hours is awarded to successful participants.

One language course is never exactly the same as another, at least not at TEXT-AND-TALK, as we strive to offer all clients highly customized training that will be suitable to their company and the needs of their personnel.

After so many years in the business, we have now built up a vast network of clients in all kinds of industries, many of whom continue to use our services on a regular basis for their training, whether it be for large, multi-training group agreements
or just for a small group of staff.
